Our Ellesmere Port base, Whitby Hall, is situated within Whitby Park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. It houses a fully accessible studio theatre, writer’s room, sound studio and other creative spaces specifically focusing on youth arts development projects. It is a place for young people to achieve creative personal bests, to find their voice and have their say.
Whitby Hall is owned by Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council and Action Transport Theatre has been based there since1995. 2002 saw the re-development of both the hall and the park, with investment from the Heritage Lottery and Regional Arts Lottery funds.
The re-developed Whitby Hall is a multi-purpose centre predominantly for arts development for young people. Action Transport work within the accessible building during rehearsals of their professional touring theatre productions, performances of their work, and various arts projects run by and for young people. The main office and administrative base is also here.
Whitby Hall is a safe place that encourages experimentation and development of new arts ideas, activities and skills.
