Action Transport puts New Writing and New Writers at the heart of the company. This is because we want to be vibrant and immediate, to connect with the emotions and imaginations of the local community, and also because we want to attract writers and artists from throughout the UK to a centre of writing excellence.
Action Transport :
- reads scripts and gives feedback
- runs New Writing projects for young people & experienced writers
- is here to help you
Action Transport works with people who want to write. Not just the mind-blowing big names, not just those whose photos look good in our foyer displays. By working with and for them, we see the effects of writing and creativity in a social and artistic context.
We do two things: make the conditions for the best, the very best, plays for children and young people to be written; and we say to young people, ‘Go on, write. You can. And we will help you.’
New writing is good – life changing – to the people who do it. We believe in the special qualities of individual writers… working in conjunction with a professional, dynamic theatre company.
