Youth Theatre
Action Transport Youth Theatre provides young people
with access to high quality theatre training, whilst offering
a platform for them to question and comment on their
lives and the world around them in a creative and
engaging way. Young people aged 11-18 from Ellesmere
Port are recruited to join the two youth theatres, which
allow everyone to produce a personal creative best at
each session.
Young Carers
Action Transport Young Carers is a three year programme offering support for young carers aged 12 – 16 who live within Ellesmere Port. This work allows the young people to express themselves creatively and explore themes which are relevant to their personal experiences.
Integrated Youth Theatre
This is a one-off project with Big House Theatre Company, based in Manchester, to bring disabled and able-bodied young people together for youth theatre projects. A longer term result of the project is that local youth theatre leaders are able to gain and share experience of integrated youth theatres, as well as the opportunity to seek advice from Action Transport and Big House.
Socially Excluded Young People
This is a partnership project with Handstand Productions Ltd, based in Liverpool, offering quality training in video and film production to eight disadvantaged young people at risk of exclusion. The first stage of this project has resulted in the creation and distribution of a ten minute film, ‘Loose Change’, created, written and filmed on location in 2004. ( Click here to get a copy )
