ABOUT ACTION TRANSPORT

We believe that the ideas and experiences of children and young people must be at the heart of the British theatre culture.

We believe in making brilliant theatre which changes people’s lives. We believe that everyone is creative, or has the potential for creativity within them.

We value and encourage individuality, collaborative endeavour and participation. We believe that good theatre develops the imagination, encourages empathy and connects people to the world in which they live.

Along with Chester Performs, we have teamed up to offer young people in Chester and the surrounding area the chance to develop and explore their creative writing skills. 12 young writers are busy writing a new piece of collectively written theatre.

There will then be the chance to see the result of their work at a script-in-hand performance, with professional actors, performed as part of this year’s Chester Literature Festival performance weekend - Saturday 18th - Sunday 19th October.

F
OOL ON THE HILL

Written by Kevin Dyer.
National tour to UK theatres.

This bright and surprising play looks at old age and childhood and how the circle is completed, turning dementia and old age on its head.

A play with puppets for anyone over the age of seven, and especially the older members of the family.
