ABOUT ACTION TRANSPORT

We believe that the ideas and experiences of children and young people must be at the heart of the British theatre culture.

We believe in making brilliant theatre which changes people’s lives. We believe that everyone is creative, or has the potential for creativity within them.

We value and encourage individuality, collaborative endeavour and participation. We believe that good theatre develops the imagination, encourages empathy and connects people to the world in which they live.

F
OOL ON THE HILL

Written by Kevin Dyer.
National tour to UK theatres.

In early December 2008, the company came to the end of a week's development on this new play.

The Fool on the Hill is an emotionally complex and profound story about a young girl who helps an old woman escape from inside her head. It looks at
old age and childhood and how 'the circle is completed. This magical and visual play for family audiences twists time and bends the rules of everyday
perception.

Associate Director Nina Hajiyianni has lead a creative team of inspired theatre makers working with the writer looking at the whole narrative journey and exploring forms of puppetry, projection and visual theatre styles.

The next development week is in March 2009 where the team will look at the next draft of the play with life size puppets.
